When does the run take place?

The run takes place at 10 am on August 16th, 2020.

Where does the run take place?

Start and finish are located at Restaurant Waldgrill on Cobenzl.

How do I get there?

The best way to get there is by public transport, bus 38A (departing from Heiligenstadt, get off at stop Cobenzl) or by car. The parking lot on Cobenzl only provides space for 120 cars, but there are more spots along Himmelstraße. Please mind the no-parking and no-stopping zones.

What are the trail options?

You have two options: The Light Trail, covering a distance of about 6.4 km and a vertical climb of 290 m or the Classic Trail, covering 14.0 km with a vertical climb of 590 m. The track mainly consists of forest and gravel paths. 13 % of the courses are paved.

How can I register?

You can register online under viennatrailrun.at up to two weeks ahead of the run. On the day of the event late registration is possible between 8 and 9 am, provided there is still capacity (including late registration fee).

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee is € 20.-for online registration for the Light Trail and € 30.- for the Classic Trail until August 4th, 2019 (plus an administrative charge at online registration of € 1,-). Late registration on the day of the event is an extra € 10.-

Where can I collect my bib number?

You get your bib number at WeMove Running Store at Wien Mitte – The Mall, Landstraßer Hauptstraße 1b, 1030 Vienna, on Friday, August 14th from 1 pm to 5 pm. On the competition day, Sunday, August 16th, you get your bib number at restaurant Waldgrill, Cobenzl 96, 1190 Vienna from 8 am to 9 am. Please be aware that you have to pick up your bib number in person. If you send somebody as representative he or she will need your registration confirmation and an authorization signed by you.

I will not be able to collect my bib number in person. Can somebody else do it for me?

Yes, of course. But do not forget to hand over your registration confirmation and an authorization signed by you to the respective person.

Are there refreshments available?

Along the trail there are three refreshing stations: at km 3, 4.6 and 9 (only the first two with the short track). Please mind that the cups you get there are not allowed beyond the refreshment zone. There will be further catering at the finish.

What does the schedule the day of the race look like?

You can register late and collect your bib number from 8 to 9 am. At 9.50 there is a mandatory meeting for all participants in the start/finish area. The run starts at 10.00 am sharp. Last arrival is at 12.30. Should you arrive later than that, we will be unable to consider your time. The award ceremony takes place at 1 pm. Changing rooms are staffed from 8 am to 3 pm.

Will there be an assessment according to age?

Yes, there will. The runners will be assessed in age groups U20, AG20, AG30, AG40, AG50, O60.

How does time measurement work?

There is a chip integrated in the bib, which will clock your net time. Thus, timekeeping does not start until you cross the starting line. Please be careful to wear your number bib on your upper front so that it is legible.

Can I start the run at the very front in order to not lose too much time?

Your net time will be assessed, which means that time measurement will not start until you have crossed the starting line. We would therefore ask you to choose your starting position in keeping with your running skills.

Where can I keep my personal belongings?

There are storage facilities available at Restaurant Waldgrill. Be sure to give over your things early enough to still make the start in good time.

Where can I get changed?

Nearby the restaurant Waldgrill in a tent.

Can I take a shower there?

We regret we are not able to provide showers.

Can I participate in the run if I am under 18?

Yes, you can participate in the Vienna Trail Run if you are at least 14 years old. The only thing we would need is a written consent by a parent or legal guardian.

May I take part in the run without being a member of any association or club?

Yes, of course. There is no need to be a member of a club to take part in the run. Register, come along and enjoy yourself!

Are participants of the run insured?

Insurance is up to the participants.

Can I assist with the Vienna Trail run?

We would love your assistance! The run is dependent on volunteers willing to offer a great event to other running enthusiasts. Please contact us at info@viennatrailrun.at and join us!

Is the course roped in for the run?

The course is well signposted, but not roped in, which means that you might meet hikers or bikers. Please remember to overtake them in safe places only.

Where can I go for late registration?

Provided that there are still places available you can register one hour before the start on the day of the event. Please remember the extra charge of € 10.-

Do I have to attend the mandatory meeting prior to the start?

Yes, absolutely. It is mandatory for all participants and takes place at the start/finish line at 9.50 am. We would like to give you the most important information in a nutshell one more time before the run.

I do not have my own chip. May I borrow one?

There is no need to, because it is integrated in the bib number, which you can keep as a souvenir.

When is last arrival at the finish?

Last arrival is at 12.30. If you are later than that, we cannot register your time.

Where do I find the results?

The results will be available online on this website on the day of the race.

Will the run be held in any weather?

The run will take place in any weather. The organizer reserves the right, however, to cancel the event in case of extreme conditions (e.g. windforce of over 60 kmph, thunderstorm) without notice. Participants are not entitled to damage claims or refund of charges by the organizer in case of cancellation of the event.

Why do I have to confirm non-warranty?

A considerable part of the run goes through rough terrain and is demanding. Non-warranty is meant to remind you of the oncoming strain and to make sure that you are aware of the risk of injury and have understood the regulations concerning the event.

Under what circumstances will the run be cancelled?

In case of unforeseeable events (e.g. extreme weather conditions, imminent danger, acts of terror, etc.) the event will be cancelled immediately. Participants cannot claim damages or a refund of charges from the organizer.

When will a contestant be disqualified?

Safety and fairness are of the most importance at the Vienna Trail Run. Unsportsmanlike behaviour (e.g. taking shortcuts and leaving the marked course, disregard of official instructions, disposing waste outside the refreshing zones, endangering other persons) leads to instant disqualification!
